• Meeting arrangement during the summer. There won’t be a meeting on August 2th. It has been updated on the Upcoming WordPress Meetings‘ page.

Looking for feedback

• WordCamp US Contributor’s Day. Someone needed to lead the Sustainability Team’s table.

Looking for volunteers

• Team’s feedback on Addressing Overlapping Initiatives and Improving Collaboration Across Teams. Contributors and Team Reps will be aware of and communicate updates on this issue where available.

Projects updates

• The issue #46 will be taken forward by @littlebigthing.

Open discussion

• WP Sustainability Team Roadmap. @yellowlime has proposed to set up a road map with main objectives of the WP Sustainability Team for the remaining months of 2024. He has also proposed some issues for comment:
  • On the environmental topic:
    • Start the development of the WP Sustainability PluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party and guidelines for making websites more sustainable.
    • Applying feedback received on the Sustainable Events Handbook and creating awareness on the existence of the handbook.
  • On the social topic:
    • Defining actionable steps, how we can work more closely with other teams and initiatives (DEIB, Five for the Future, Community Team) on this topic.
  • On the economical topic:
    • Leading by example: securing funding for the development of a WP Plugin and its guidelines.
    • Finding out how we can partner with organizations outside the WP ecosystem that deal with same challenges within the world of open-source..
