Volunteering in the forums

The Support Forum Volunteers are the members of the WordPress Support Forum community providing answers to your WordPress problems and issues.

If you are interested in volunteering and helping out in the WordPress Forums, there is no criteria. Just pitch in where you see fit. It is recommended that you have the following:

  • Familiarity with WordPress functions and features
  • Familiarity with WordPress terminology
  • Ability to understand the intent behind the question, not just the question. That’s because not everyone writes English with perfect spelling and grammar and sometimes it’s difficult to explain a technical issue, so sometimes we have to interpret or ask more questions.
  • Patience
  • Willingness to go the extra step

It is expected that you understand that the principles of the WordPress project include:

  • No discrimination on the basis of economic or social status, race, color, ethnic origin, national origin, creed, religion, political belief, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, age, or disability
  • No incitement to violence or promotion of hate
  • No spammers
  • Respect the WordPress trademark

Guidelines for everyone using the forum can be found at Using the Support Forums.

We have official Support Contributor and Support Team badges, which we will distributed on an automated basis as follows:

  • Support Contributor: You have contributed over 400 support replies.
  • Support Team: You have been promoted to Moderator.
