#  Editor Access

If you **do not** have access to be an editor on these pages and would like it,
please wave your hand in the comments.

Possibly we’ll get a form for this…

Criteria:

 * Decent written English
 * General good behavior

That’s really it. Editor access isn’t super dangerous if you think about it, and
most of you folks we trust, so just ask and we’ll probably say yes.

Extra points for:

 * Already being a Codex editor
 * IRC/SE/Forum activity
 * Professional WP personages
 * Writing WP related books

 * [Login to Reply](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fmake.wordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Feditor-access%2F%23respond&locale=en_US)

 3. Hi, I’ve been following along in this Make site, and also listening in in IRC,
      but I have not been making any noise so far, beyond a comment here and a comment
      there.
 4. That’s not going to stop me from asking for access, however, as I really want
      to help!
 5. A little about my reasons for this request, to prove I’m not a creep or weirdo:
 6.    * I am a [real person](https://twitter.com/JerrySarcastic) who trains new WP
         users on a regular basis in my [business](http://fittingsites.com).
       * I’m a good writer (I think) and have a good _head on my shoulders_ when it
         comes to providing clear and approachable instruction, especially for novices
         and technophobes.
       * I don’t have samples of written documentation for WP, but I do have a [YouTube Channel](http://www.youtube.com/user/MyFittingSites?feature=mhee)
         with a bunch of instructional screencasts that are well received.
       * I am a recent Codex editor, but haven’t contributed yet. This manual is where
         it’s “going on” and I want to work here first if possible, as a _useful_ New
         User Manual is sorely needed
       * WordPress is awesome as-is, but I want it to be even better
       * I’m not above begging
 7. So, what do you say?
       -Jerry

      and regularly train my clients to use WordPress. Part of that involves producing
      mini-manuals for them. I also have a journalism degree and have worked as a journalist/

 21. I would like to contribute to building the manual.
 22. I’m a WordPress developer and usually with all my clients I do provide some documentation
      which they can refer back to. I usually integrate that into the back-end with
      a link from the Dashboard.
 23. I have started helping the community by answering queries on WordPress support
      forums and I also have been a regular contributor to WP Questions.
 24. Cannot wait to get started.

            I haven’t looked at the plan yet, to identify more — but I’m generally
            up for the more technical topics. I am aware that the audience isn’t technical.
            I’m pretty good at explaining technical things to a non-technical audience.
            It’s something I do regularly at my job when proposing ideas to business-
            side project owners.

            to include a section or page with explanations definitions of the various
            types of hosting available: shared hosting, ‘managed wordpress hosting
            i.e. WP-Engine, ZippyKid, etc.’, vps hosting (managed and unmanaged), or
            dedicated server.
          - The vast majority of people will be fine running on shared hosting. But,
            when shopping for hosting, it’s easy to be confused by all the options –
            and some projects may be better served avoiding shared hosting altogether.

 71.  Hi there!
       I’m raising my hand to get an editor access to do better for WordPress
      community.
 72. As Cross-Wikipedian and Wikimedian, I’s familiar with the syntax and nature of
      the Codex, and hence I’m a Codex Editor there too.[1] I’m also a StackExchange
      WordPress volunteer[2], trying to take help as well as trying to do help others.
      I’m also active in WordPress.StackExchange MetaMeta Meta is a term that refers
      to the inside workings of a group. For us, this is the team that works on internal
      WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and Make WordPress.[3] with good reputation.
      I’m an author of my first theme ‘nano blogger'[4], with which I edited some of
      the codex articles with relative real data. And in very niche, but I’m trying
      to write some WordPress tutorials in Bangla in our tuts blog of nanodesigns[5].
      So, that’s me, in and out with WordPress, and believes from heart : Code is Poetry!

      Thanks.

 101. Hi,
       I have been following along in this Make site, and also listening in IRC,
      but I have not been making any noise so far, beyond a comment here and a comment
      there. That’s not going to stop me from asking for access, however, as I really
      want to help new wp users.
 102. A little about my reasons for this request, to prove I’m not a weirdo or creep:
 103. I am a recent Codex editor, but haven’t contributed yet. This manual is where
      it’s “going on” and I want to work here first if possible, as a useful New User
      Manual is sorely needed
       WordPress is awesome as-is, but I want it to be even
      better
 104. I am a real person who trains new WP users on a regular basis in my business.

      I’m a good writer (I think) and have a good head on my shoulders when it comes
      to providing clear and approachable instruction, especially for novices and technophobes.
 105. I don’t have samples of written documentation for WP, but I do have a Blog with
      a bunch of instructional contents that are well received.
 106. So, what do you say?
 107.  * ![](https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/27180c82524020e7339e2b30818b6d8ab004c54f730f12b1434b1e365be0e175?
