July 5th Support Team Meeting Summary

General announcements

Our Also Viewing script received an update this past week.

WordPress 4.9.6/7/8

As our meeting began, WordPress 4.9.7 rolled out as a security and maintenance release. This means the next version will be 4.9.8, and is still tentatively scheduled for July 31st.

The 4.9.8 release will primarily focus on the Try Gutenberg callout.

Feedback will happen through a feedback form, of course support is likely to end on the forums and various other support outlets all over. In light of this we’ll see what we can do to improve our forum presence for the period following this release.

Checking in with international liaisons

The Russian, Italian, Swedish, Brazilian, German, Serbian, Dutch, Urdu and Greek communities were present for our chat, to help spread the good word of support wide and far!
