In preparations for the GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/ callout, we’re organizing the pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party support forums a bit. We’ve added a master list (much like we do for major coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. releases) that will contain links to resources most commonly referenced, and known compatibility issues we’ve discovered.

We have also invited members from the hosting team to stick around in our channel and let us know of any recurring issues they discover so that we can try and gather them in one location for the whole community to access.

An initial list of FAQ’s we find likely is being gathered in an open Google Docs document, which will be migrated to the more public thread for release.

And as we expect a bit of noise early on, we’ll be following our usual guidelines for a WordPress major releaseMajor Release A set of releases or versions having the same major version number may be collectively referred to as “X.Y” -- for example version 5.2.x to refer to versions 5.2, 5.2.1, and all other versions in the 5.2. (five dot two dot) branch of that software. Major Releases often are the introduction of new major features and functionality., keeping channel clutter out so we don’t miss important details.
