General announcements

We keep pushing the desire to populate the common Gutenberg issues and questions document.

Our next volunteer orientation is scheduled for tomorrow, April 27th.

 

WordPress 4.9.5 and 4.9.6

No new issues have been reported for WordPress 4.9.5.

As for 4.9.6, the timeline is currently set for a May 15th release, with betaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. hitting as soon as May 1st.

 

Checking in with international liaisons

Sweden, Serbia, Russia, Greece, Brazil and Italy had community representatives during this weeks gathering, without any major issues to report.

 

Open floor

If you are attending a WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more., check if they’re hosting a Happiness Bar, it’s much like an in-person support venue for WordPress users attending the event, staffed by volunteers. If they’ve not got one, why not ask them if they’ve considered having one?
