WordPress 4.7.5

We have nothing new to add to the known issues for 4.7 this week.

This is the last week we’ll discuss 4.7. Next week will be all about 4.8.

WordPress 4.8 Release Candidate 1 is here! Please make sure that you’re testing via something like the Beta Tester plugin, Varying Vagrant Vagrants, or Chassis, and pay extra attention to the new Text widgetWidget A WordPress Widget is a small block that performs a specific function. You can add these widgets in sidebars also known as widget-ready areas on your web page. WordPress widgets were originally created to provide a simple and easy-to-use way of giving design and structure control of the WordPress theme to the user. and anything else involving TinyMCE.

If you have any other fun/easy betaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. testing methods to share, please do so in the comments below!

Community Summit Topic Proposals

After a good discussion, we have all agreed to submit these as the Support Team’s proposals for this year’s Community Summit:

  • Continue 2015’s discussion about how to make/keep the support community welcoming and open, while at the same time encouraging quality replies.
  • Go through the remaining items on the lists of known issues and requested enhancements. – (MetaMeta Meta is a term that refers to the inside workings of a group. For us, this is the team that works on internal WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and Make WordPress. assistance needed)
  • Create a common style guide (best practices) that can be used across all forum language.
