Weekly Meetings

As well as discussing support issues here on the blog, we use Slack for group communication.

Our weekly meeting is held fortnightly on Thursday at 20:00 UTC, with agendas published below. 2017 Community Summit Support Topics/Issues

The next Community Summit has been announced, so let’s use the comments below to collect any support-related topics and issues you’d like to have discussed this year.

Here are a few to get the ball rolling:

Continue 2015’s discussion about making/keeping the support community welcoming and open, while at the same time encouraging quality replies.
Go through the remaining items on the lists of known issues and requested enhancements.

After this week’s meeting, we’ll be adding the following to the proposal:
- Create a common style guide (best practices) that can be used across all forum languages.

The following topics were submitted for the Support Team’s consideration via the master application:
- Third-party authentication with the REST APIREST API The REST API is an acronym for the RESTful Application Program Interface (API) that uses HTTP requests to GET, PUT, POST and DELETE data. It is how the front end of an application (think “phone app” or “website”) can communicate with the data store (think “database” or “file system”) https://developer.wordpress.org/rest-api/.. Between OAuth 1.0a, OAuth2, central application brokers, Application Passwords, or some other system — there’s a lot of possibilities here, and it’d be really nice if CoreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. could pick something and move forward with it before folks start spoofing cookie authentication in applications to integrate with core.
