March 24th Support Team Meeting Summary

WordPress 4.5 RCRelease Candidate A beta version of software with the potential to be a final product, which is ready to release unless significant bugs emerge. 1

WordPress 4.5 RC 1 is out, and so far we haven’t noticed anything consistent or otherwise worth highlighting in our testing.

Please do test the betaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. when you can. If we can find bugs before 4.5 goes final, we’ll have less threads to deal with after.

AccessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers). We voted unanimously to establish a new Accessibility forums section following some community feedback on there being no place to bring such questions except to the Accessibility Team directly (email, Twitter, blog comments, etc).

The new section will be for both developing and using an accessible WordPress, and a request has been made to create it.
