They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/\">https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/<\/a> or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party.<\/span><\/span><\/span> author of Japanized Popup. I have imported Japanese<br>\ntranslations and would like to request <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>PTE<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Project Translation Editor<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>A Project Translation\u00a0Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific\u00a0project\u00a0(for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one\u00a0specific locale. A\u00a0project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a <a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/polyglots\/glossary\/#general-translation-editor\">general translation editor<\/a>\u00a0after a <a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/polyglots\/handbook\/rosetta\/theme-plugin-directories\/#requesting-new-translation-editors\">request by the project\u00a0author<\/a> or by the contributors themselves.<\/span><\/span><\/span> access for the Japanese <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>locale<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Locale<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it\u2019s used in Mexico. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.<\/span><\/span><\/span> I have submitted:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stable: 66 strings\n<\/li>\n<li>Stable Readme: 47 strings\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One important note for the reviewer:<\/p>\n<p>This plugin is built specifically for Japanese users, and its source<br>\nstrings are written in Japanese rather than English. For this reason the<br>\nja translations I submitted are identical to the source strings. They are<br>\nnot untranslated or machine-copied entries \u2014 the original text is already<br>\nthe final Japanese wording.<\/p>\n<p>At present the plugin page shows the \u201cnot translated into Japanese\u201d notice<br>\neven though the entire admin <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>UI<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>UI<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>UI is an acronym for User Interface - the layout of the page the user interacts with. Think \u2018how are they doing that\u2019 and less about what they are doing.<\/span><\/span><\/span> is in Japanese, which is confusing for our<br>\nusers. Approving these strings resolves that.<\/p>\n<p>If a different approach is preferred (for example rewriting the source<br>\nstrings in English and keeping Japanese purely as a translation), I am<br>\nhappy to do that instead.
