A\u00a0project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a <a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/polyglots\/glossary\/#general-translation-editor\">general translation editor<\/a>\u00a0after a <a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/polyglots\/handbook\/rosetta\/theme-plugin-directories\/#requesting-new-translation-editors\">request by the project\u00a0author<\/a> or by the contributors themselves.<\/span><\/span><\/span> access for Russian (ru_RU) so I can maintain the Russian translation of the <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>plugin<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Plugin<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.<\/span><\/span><\/span> have been translated and are currently waiting for review.<\/p>\n<p>There are 92 <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>GlotPress<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>GlotPress<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>GlotPress is the translation management software that powers\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/translate.wordpress.org\">Translate.WordPress.org<\/a>. More information is available at <a href=\"http:\/\/glotpress.org\/\">glotpress.org<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span> warnings. Most of them are caused by internal <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>JavaScript<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>JavaScript<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>JavaScript or JS is an object-oriented computer programming language commonly used to create interactive effects within web browsers. WordPress makes extensive use of JS for a better user experience. These strings are translated, but their source identifiers are much shorter than the Russian labels, which triggers length warnings.<\/p>\n<p>I have identified this <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>localization<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Localization<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Localization (sometimes shortened to \"<b>l10n<\/b>\") is the process of adapting a product or service to a particular language, culture, and desired local \"look-and-feel.\"<\/span><\/span><\/span> extraction issue and will rename the custom helper in the next plugin release so these false-positive source strings are no longer extracted.<\/p>\n<p>I am a native Russian speaker and will maintain the Russian translation according to the Russian <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>locale<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Locale<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it\u2019s used in Mexico.
