We’re reaching out with a focused call for contributors to help localize two important initiatives: the WordPress Credits Program and the Campus Connect project. These efforts celebrate our global community and help bring WordPress to new audiences especially students and educators.

🏅 WordPress Credits

WordPress Credits is a contribution-based internship program by the WordPress Foundation that helps university students gain real-world experience contributing to the WordPress open sourceOpen Source Open Source denotes software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified. Open Source **must be** delivered via a licensing model, see GPL. project. Through structured onboarding, mentorship, and hands-on projects, students collaborate with global contributors while fulfilling academic internship requirements. The program was launched with the University of Pisa and continues to grow across campuses and companies worldwide.

🎓 Campus Connect

WordPress Campus Connect is a global community program that introduces students to the power and versatility of WordPress through hands-on workshops, classes, and training events. From blogs and eCommerce stores to enterprise websites, students learn how WordPress can support their creative and professional goals. The program is designed to provide free, accessible learning opportunities and help grow the next generation of WordPress users and developers. We’re translating onboarding guides, event templates, and outreach materials to support this global effort

PTE Bot – Do you want review a plugin for me?

Hi everybody,
the awesome Italian community created another tool for the Polyglots after GlotDict!

A bot?
Yeah, inspired from https://triagebot.mozilla.org/ The Triage Bot of Mozilla that is a simple form where a volunteer can subscribe to receive weekly an email with different tickets to triage (check if the bug it is happening etc.).
In the Italian community we have the problem of many strings to review, actually 40000+ check on https://translate.wordpress.org/stats, but we are few PTEs.

So I proposed a daily task for PTEs pick a random pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party and review like 20-30 stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings., so if we work together we can approve many strings together.

To add a little bit of gamification I created a WordPress plugin this afternoon (4 hours) so it is very experimental and actually enabled only for the Italian community.

Why only italian??

Because that bot it is on my server so I don’t want to send many email daily to avoid problem with my hosting but I think that the bot will works without problems we can move outside on a specific site.

Who works?

Every day check the email frequency for every PTE subscribed and pick a random plugin what have strings not approved.
Actually do a scraping from the HTMLHTML HTML is an acronym for Hyper Text Markup Language. I can install on my site?

Shiny Updates Review

Hello Polyglots,

While Shiny Updates has been written with i18nInternationalization Internationalization (sometimes shortened to I18N , meaning “I - eighteen letters -N”) is the process of planning and implementing products and services so that they can easily be adapted to specific local languages and cultures, a process called localization. This is the process of making software translatable. Information about Internationalization for developers can be found in the Developer’s handbooks. in mind (some contributors are polyglots themselves), we would appreciate if you could give the latest version of the plugin a look-over. We’d like to have it in the best shape it can be before it gets merged, being accessible to users around the world would help with that.

If you do encounter issues during your review, it would be great if you could file those on GitHub for us to discuss and fix them.
