Zé ,
I’m comfusing with bbPressbbPress Free, open source software built on top
of WordPress for easily creating forums on sites. [https://bbpress.org](https://bbpress.org)
POT files. In codex page for [International WordPress Forums](https://codex.wordpress.org/International_WordPress_Forums),
it mentions [this](http://svn.automattic.com/bbpress-i18n/pot/trunk/bbpress.pot)
for bbPress pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions
that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new
features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming
language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.

or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party. POT filePOT file POT files are the
template files for PO files. They will have all the translation strings left empty.
A POT file is essentially an empty PO file without the translations, with just the
original strings.. It has 1131 stringsString A string is a translatable part of
the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.. In glotpressGlotPress
GlotPress is the translation management software that powers [Translate.WordPress.org](http://translate.wordpress.org).
More information is available at [glotpress.org](http://glotpress.org/). there are
only 706 strings. Those two are nearly completely differences. Which one I need
to translate for localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of
a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used
in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in [https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/)
forum and which one is for stand alone plugin?

In the light of [#13651](https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/13651) we have a
new script for generating POT files, which doesn’t depend on the gettext tools,
but it’s written in pure PHPPHP PHP (recursive acronym for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor)
is a widely-used open source general-purpose scripting language that is especially
suited for web development and can be embedded into HTML. [https://www.php.net/manual/en/preface.php](https://www.php.net/manual/en/preface.php),
which gives us a lot more flexibility.

I just enabled it for the automatic POT generation and the latest POT files have
been generated with the new script. Please, report any strangeness you see.
