“Open hours” for the Galician language. Feb. 21, 2023 (12:00 UTC)

Next February 21, at 12:00 UTC, we will have a new “open hours” session.

We will share a Zoom link in the #tradutores-galego channel at the Spanish SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/., where we usually discuss the important questions related with our language, so people can join us.

“Open hours” for the Galician language

Some Galician GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale. want to increase the engagement with the current translators, as well as recruit new ones and explain to all of them how to improve their workflow, to be more efficient.

Next January 25, at 12:00 UTC, we will have one “open hours” session. We want to do this monthly, and we hope that this will be the first of many initiatives that will enable local translation communities to become larger and more active.

I am translating the theme-specific .pot filePOT file POT files are the template files for PO files. They will have all the translation strings left empty. A POT file is essentially an empty PO file without the translations, with just the original strings. to galician localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/.

Galician translation – There’s a translation for an old version v2.7.

I’ve translated the Twenty Ten theme to Galician and I’m also translating the v3.0.1.
