Hello I recently started to contribute to the…

Hello, I recently started to contribute to the Codex in Spanish. However I am finding it is somewhat difficult to start editing without knowing Wiki tags used by WordPress. There are some tags that can be effectively translated into another language, for example, {{WarningMsg|Hey pay attention!}} puts a WARNING: tag before the text, this tag can be translated into Russian like this {{ru:WarningMsg}} however, doing the same for Spanish doesn’t work as expected {{es:WarningMsg}} just displays {{es:WarningMessage}} instead of ATENCIÓN:

I am wondering if there are missing tags for language cross references, where can I find the list of tags used by WordPress CodexWordPress Codex Living online manual to WordPress.org https://codex.wordpress.org/, in case there are translations missing for tags how can they be added or which team is to be contacted to request its addition?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Currently I’m the only active administrator validator…

Hi,

Currently I’m the only active administrator/validatorValidator See translation editor. for galician language (gl_ES). I wish to relieve this activity and let others to engage in administrative tasks. For now, we have a volunteer, which currently is the most active performing translations.

I added this user, @egalego, as Editor on Galician Rosseta site: http://gl.wordpress.org

I don’t know if it is necessary to grant access elsewhere, as the svn repositoryWordPress Localization Repository The WordPress Localization Repository at https://i18n.svn.wordpress.org/ is a Subversion repository where official WordPress translations are maintained. See Working with the Translation Repository for details. or the codex. I leave this in the hands of administrators.

Thanks.

Forum moderators

Given that many of us here double as forum moderators for our own languages, I would like to encourage all to keep informed about what is going on over at https://make.wordpress.org/support. Please feel free to contribute your own opinion, which is not only welcome, but actually needed.

One of the first examples of what you can use on your own forums is the list of Stock Answers to common problems of users not following the posting rules on the forums. The conversation which gave birth to that is here, do read it.

I suggest that each language’s moderation team should translate those answers to their own language and use them on their forums, adapting the links to their own version of the Codex, if one exists. Come to think of it, it would be brilliant if the forum rules were to exist for every language that has a forum.

A conversation about the Codex has also just begun and I think that this is the perfect opportunity to have the issues of localesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ other than English addressed from the start.

In order to post on that blog, you will need to be added to it. Should you want to, please let me know, so that I can do that (keep in mind that only forum moderators will be added)

I’d like to work on a Danish translation…

I’d like to work on a Danish translation for codex.wordpress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org//WordPress_Features …How do I do that?
