Modifying the Showcase

Your RosettaRosetta The code name of the theme for the local WordPress sites (eg. bg.wordpress.org is a “Rosetta” site). All locale specific WordPress sites are referred to as “Rosetta sites.” The name was inspired from the ancient Rosetta Stone, which contained more or less the same text in three different languages. site allows you to showcase up to four sites as great examples of WordPress in your community.

There are a few expectations for the featured sites. Use the following as a basis for selecting sites:

  1. Conforming to the general Submission Criteria.
  2. Be in your language.
  3. Be from your local region.

Now that you’ve selected sites, it’s time to add them to the showcase.

Add Showcase Items

To add a new showcase item, navigate to your Rosetta dashboard and click on the Showcase > Add New menu in the sidebarSidebar A sidebar in WordPress is referred to a widget-ready area used by WordPress themes to display information that is not a part of the main content. It is not always a vertical column on the side. It can be a horizontal rectangle below or above the content area, footer, header, or any where in the theme..

  • Title: Used as the alt attribute of the screenshot image.
  • URLURL A specific web address of a website or web page on the Internet, such as a website’s URL www.wordpress.org: Used as a target link.
  • Description: This is not used in the front-end.
  • Website screenshot: Optional. If this is not set, the screenshot will be captured and updated automatically.

Double check data

Before you close the browser, double-check to see if the screenshot is generated. This might take a few minutes and you can check by refreshing the homepage if it’s not displaying a proper screenshot just yet.
