While the Polyglots team focuses primarily on the translation of WordPress and related software into various languages, there are a number of other tasks that we can use help with. Our team has a number of ongoing projects and requests that would highly benefit from developer input. This guide will walk you through how and where to get involved.

What to work on

In general, you can follow any major projects happening on the Polyglots P2. I have another idea!

Beyond the suggestions above, there are always new ideas and ways to contribute. In our Tools page, you can see a number of tools that were created by developers who were invested in the Polyglots team and wanted to add some additional functionality to the tools we use. This includes things like the WP Polyglots Facilitator tool, which allows variants of a single language to share translations and stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. with one another instead of “starting from scratch.”

If you have an idea for a tool that you would like to contribute, please feel free to share your idea in the #polyglots channel on the WordPress SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. or on the Polyglots P2. You can always join one of our weekly meetings to connect with other Polyglots team members who may be able to help build or test your new idea, too.
