goal of the global event is to get more translation contributors involved with the

Here’s a list of things you need to help new contributors with:

 * Start your day by explaining to the people at your event how the Polyglots Team
runs. We have some resources you can use:
    - [Polyglots Handbook](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/about/)
    - Polyglots Contributor Training: [Intro to WordPress Translation](https://learn.wordpress.org/lesson/intro-to-wordpress-translation/)

make a copy and create your own version)
 * Make sure everyone has [registered on WordPress.org](https://login.wordpress.org/register)
 * Make sure everyone was able to access [WordPress Slack](https://make.wordpress.org/chat/)&
   [#polyglots channel](https://wordpress.slack.com/messages/team/polyglots) and/
   or your [local Slack](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/about/teams/local-slacks/)
 * Introduce them to [translate.wordpress.org](http://translate.wordpress.org) and
briefly show them how to use it
    - Example: [Getting started translating WordPress, themes, and plugins into different languages](https://wordpress.tv/2021/07/05/tor-bjorn-fjellner-theodoros-gkitsos-getting-started-translating-wordpress-themes-and-plugins-into-different-languages/)
    - Explain your [style guide and/or glossary](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/translating/list-of-glossaries-per-locale/),
      if your team has one
 * Log into [translate.wordpress.org](https://translate.wordpress.org) and get everyone
to pick a project and start translating it
 * For a larger group & offline event: hand out printed [flyers](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MW9v2NowOSsnaItmSBiYb5ElcibP3Tzf6ZmyC21MvBg/edit#)
with instructions & resources so people can get started on their own
