In translation, sometimes there are stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. with dotted underline and when we hover over it, it shows us the translation. Is there a fixed list of words or can a translation editorTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles: General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor add his own list?

Feature request: Letting translator know where the stringString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. will be rendered

Sometimes i wish i could know where the string is and in what context it is being used. Yes, sometimes we do have the “context” part, but it would be great if i could see where the original string is rendered in a actual WordPress installation. I know it can be difficult as some are error messages etc… but this is just a request, and this feature might be helping in getting more quality contributions in long term.

check out “Gujarati” language. It shows a total of 503 translations instead of 487.

During translation, i observed that when i did some particular thing, it just made two original stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.. I thought it would be a temporary bug, but in actual it created two different strings. Any idea why?

I recently have been added as a validatorValidator See translation editor.. Can i update the rosettaRosetta The code name of the theme for the local WordPress sites (eg. bg.wordpress.org is a “Rosetta” site). All locale specific WordPress sites are referred to as “Rosetta sites.” The name was inspired from the ancient Rosetta Stone, which contained more or less the same text in three different languages. site ? or post on blog ?

What does it mean when when any project is not tagged “Active” ?

i.e. at – https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp/dev/

The project “Continent and Cities” is not marked as Active.

Should translators not translate it ?

Looking for a Polyglots team lead to kickstart inactive language

Hello there,

i am new to community member looking for help.
I am looking for a Polyglots teamPolyglots Team Polyglots Team is a group of multilingual translators who work on translating plugins, themes, documentation, and front-facing marketing copy. https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/. lead.

I want to contribute to Gujarati language on main “WordPress” project, My language(gujarati) is listed here – https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp/dev

However, i can’t find it on marko’s plugin page here – http://wpcentral.io/internationalization/
So, i can’t even contact my current validatorValidator See translation editor..

Also, i have seen that there are 0 Translated/approved stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. and approx 106 unverified strings, so i guess it is inactive, and the guy who created this language has been busy in his own life.

So, i request any polygots team leader to make me validator for this language.
