Hello I keep getting all sorts of warnings…

Hello,
I keep getting all sorts of warnings like “Warning: Lengths of source and translation differ too much.” or “Warning: Lengths of source and translation differ too much.” when I try to translate a stringString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. at translate.wp.org. This happens for every string. Could someone please take a look?

In case you haven’t noticed, WordPress.org profile redesign is up. People can now get badges for their contributions. Here is an example for polyglots https://profiles.wordpress.org/vanillalounge/.
@vanillalounge I assume that you have access to the list of people currently contributing in make/polyglots. Could you please send it to someone in metaMeta Meta is a term that refers to the inside workings of a group. For us, this is the team that works on internal WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and Make WordPress. (probably Ian Dunn), so that we can get those shiny new badges? 😀 Thanks

Hello,
Translation for “Site Stats” on bs.wordpress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ has been set to Bulgarian (bg) instead of Bosnian (bs). Could someone please fix this? Thanks 🙂

A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings., it won’t be displayed in the untranslated list after that. In order to translate it, you have to do an export or filterFilter Filters are one of the two types of Hooks https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Hooks. They provide a way for functions to modify data of other functions. They are the counterpart to Actions. Unlike Actions, filters are meant to work in an isolated manner, and should never have side effects such as affecting global variables and output. by rejected strings.

All locale specific WordPress sites are referred to as “Rosetta sites.” The name was inspired from the ancient Rosetta Stone, which contained more or less the same text in three different languages.-bs_BA). It was completely translated few days ago. Could you please take a look?

It is typically used to translate program code, and may be loaded or imported into the GNU gettext program. This is the format used in a WordPress install. These files are normally located inside .../wp-content/languages/ file exported from GlotPressGlotPress GlotPress is the translation management software that powers Translate.WordPress.org. More information is available at glotpress.org.. They should be displayed in English. Here is a screenshot of About page using bs_BA:

Translation for Twenty Eleven isn’t included in the localized build for 3.3 BetaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. 1. I tried with both methods (svn and directly from GlotPressGlotPress GlotPress is the translation management software that powers Translate.WordPress.org. It is typically used to translate program code, and may be loaded or imported into the GNU gettext program. This is the format used in a WordPress install. These files are normally located inside .../wp-content/languages/. Untranslated strings aren’t exported at all. Tested with bs_BA in bbPressbbPress Free, open source software built on top of WordPress for easily creating forums on sites. https://bbpress.org. (only 188 strings are in the .po file) and BuddyPress (235 strings in the .po file).

Notification on WordPress.org English forums saying “WordPress forums are also available in…” is missing a link for Bosnian. Currently it just displays “WordPress forums are also available in .” without the name of language based on local settings. It should display “WordPress forums are also available in Bosanski.” where Bosanski should be a link which points to bs.forums.wordpress.org. Here is a screenshot: http://bit.ly/phyyIY

Hello I was building a new beta1 version…

I was building a new beta1 version of 3.2 earlier today and I noticed that .mo filesMO files MO, or Machine Object is a binary data file that contains object data referenced by a program. It is typically used to translate program code, and may be loaded or imported into the GNU gettext program. This is the format used in a WordPress install. These files are normally located inside .../wp-content/languages/ included in the build are always those from ‘messages’ folder in the SubversionSVN Apache Subversion (often abbreviated SVN, after its command name svn) is a software versioning and revision control system. Software developers use Subversion to maintain current and historical versions of files such as source code, web pages, and documentation. Its goal is to be a mostly compatible successor to the widely used Concurrent Versions System (CVS). WordPress core and the wordpress.org released code are all centrally managed through SVN. https://subversion.apache.org/. (if they are present there) regardless of which option I choose while building the release (translate.wordpress.orgtranslate.wordpress.org The platform for contributing to the translation of WordPress core, themes and plugins. or Subversion). After I have deleted .mo files from the tag I was using for the build, .mo files were pulled from GlotPressGlotPress GlotPress is the translation management software that powers Translate.WordPress.org. More information is available at glotpress.org.. As far as I can tell, .po filesPO files PO files are human readable files which contain translations we use. These files are not used by WordPress itself. Each language will have its own PO file, for example, for French there would be a fr_FR.po file, for german there would be a de_DE.po, for British English there might be en_GB.po. are handled correctly. Also, translations for Twenty Eleven weren’t included in the build (tried both options).

A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. for the new default theme named Twenty Eleven are inserted into coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. WordPress language file for 3.2. Should they be in a separate file or this is some future method of managing translations?
