Hello there, Polyglots. We are requesting commit access for es_ES for user @jartes, as he’s helping us with the translations and we want to have another user in the team.

Is this something that we can do internally, or we need to ask for permission? If so, this is a request 🙂

Thanks.

Hello there.

If you create a betaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. or RCRelease Candidate A beta version of software with the potential to be a final product, which is ready to release unless significant bugs emerge. version in your local site, it automagically goes to the Beta & RC versions place when distributed. If you do the same with an alpha, it goes to the main page and take the main place. I’ve just tested it with 4.0-alpha.

Can you make the alphas go to the Beta & RC versions place too to avoid errors?

Thanks.

Hello there.

Project 3.9 and 3.9.x does not exist. If I need to change any stringString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. in the translation of version 3.9, I cannot do it because it makes a 4.0-alpha release.

It’s not a blocker, you can still build 3.9 via SVNSVN Apache Subversion (often abbreviated SVN, after its command name svn) is a software versioning and revision control system. Software developers use Subversion to maintain current and historical versions of files such as source code, web pages, and documentation. Its goal is to be a mostly compatible successor to the widely used Concurrent Versions System (CVS). WordPress core and the wordpress.org released code are all centrally managed through SVN. https://subversion.apache.org/. using revision 27986. But if it’s going to be a 3.9.1 version soon, maybe it’s a good idea to have them.

Hello there. A question about betaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. and RCRelease Candidate A beta version of software with the potential to be a final product, which is ready to release unless significant bugs emerge..

Assume that I want to release a WP 3.9-RC2 in Spanish to allow some people to test it and test the translations.
Revision is 28135. Which are the steps that I have to follow to do this? I don’t mind if it’s not easy or I have to do some SVNSVN Apache Subversion (often abbreviated SVN, after its command name svn) is a software versioning and revision control system. Software developers use Subversion to maintain current and historical versions of files such as source code, web pages, and documentation. Its goal is to be a mostly compatible successor to the widely used Concurrent Versions System (CVS). This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/.

Latest version in localized versions

Hello there.

Time to ask for Christmas presents 😉

In WordPress.org you can have the latest version using https://wordpress.org/download/latest.zip. It’s great for automatization in servers, plugins, linking and other stuff. Can we have the same for localized versions? ex. https://es.wordpress.org/download/latest.zip

Hello there.

We have right now 1355 threads with 3337 messages in es_ES forums, but they are unsearchable. Right now, if you are in your localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ forum and tries a search, you are redirected to wordpress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org//support/-only results.

Is it possible to set up the search to allow the users search in WP.org forums, locale forum, or both?

Hello there.

I have created branches/3.3 in SVNSVN Apache Subversion (often abbreviated SVN, after its command name svn) is a software versioning and revision control system. Software developers use Subversion to maintain current and historical versions of files such as source code, web pages, and documentation. Its goal is to be a mostly compatible successor to the widely used Concurrent Versions System (CVS). WordPress core and the wordpress.org released code are all centrally managed through SVN. https://subversion.apache.org/. and I’m using it to create the release.

I have used SVN files (I have uploaded all the .po/.mo filesMO files MO, or Machine Object is a binary data file that contains object data referenced by a program. It is typically used to translate program code, and may be loaded or imported into the GNU gettext program. This is the format used in a WordPress install. These files are normally located inside .../wp-content/languages/) and dist/ in translate.wordpress.orgtranslate.wordpress.org The platform for contributing to the translation of WordPress core, themes and plugins. with the same result: wp-versions.php sais that we are in 3.3-aorctic-dissection, and the update doesn’t work.

Can you bring some light about what to do?

Thank you.

Localized polyglots P2

Hello there.

Zé gave me the idea and I have been thinking in have a localized P2p2 "p2" is the name of the theme that blogs at make.wordpress.org use (and o2 is the accompanying plugin). When asked to post something "on the p2" by a member of the Polyglots team, that usually means you're asked to post on the team blog https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/. to the translation community in Spanish. I have tried to create it with the most logical name, but i had this message:

The address es_es.wordpress.comWordPress.com An online implementation of WordPress code that lets you immediately access a new WordPress environment to publish your content. WordPress.com is a private company owned by Automattic that hosts the largest multisite in the world. This is arguably the best place to start blogging if you have never touched WordPress before. https://wordpress.com/ is reserved and cannot be registered.

Do you think it will be a good idea to ask for this localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ references to work with translation communities? I mean:

  • en_US.wordpress.com
  • es_ES.wordpress.com
  • pt_BR.wordpress.com
  • and so on…

Hello there.

In es_ES forums someone has reported that some parts of Jetpack are impossible to translate.

I took a look and, in fact, module descriptions are untranslatable. I have reported it in https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/1333

We have an issue in credits page (https://es.wordpress.org/wp-admin/credits.php). é appears as é, so there are two names wrong: José and Zé.

Can you take a look at the charset?
Thanks 🙂

Hello there.

We have no official forums for WP.org in Spanish. It will be good to have one. As a forum support, it’s valid for the entire Spanish community, with all its localizations, so we think it’s very interesting.

Is it possible to get one?

Thanks in advance.
