Hi @ekamran

For localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ teams that are at least somewhat active, adding wider responsibilities are in almost all cases best discussed directly within each team than here in the global blog.

I know that you’ve also had informal conversations around this with the #hi_IN team, and that they are happy to gradually give you a wider role, with “all themes” as reasonable next step.

Thanks for the reply Tobi . I have been asking the team since May to look at my work, and my coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. suggestions are still unreviewed, so there is nothing yet for a gradual role to be based on.

Meanwhile I took six plugins to 100% and have over 2,800 approved stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.. I can keep doing that, but it does not touch the real problem: Hindi core is fully translated and stuck in review. Hindi already has 140 project editors, and one more on themes will not change that.

So I will pass on themes for now, and I am happy to take on themes and plugins once core is moving. All my work is public. If the team has a concern about its quality, I would like to hear it here so I can fix it. If not, core access is how I can actually help.
