I’m a native German speaker and the author of the plugin. The translation
uses the informal “du” form, matching the de_DE localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/, and follows the
German style guide and glossary. I’ll also take care of the readme
sub-projects so the plugin page is available in German.

Thanks a lot for your time!
