You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them. Also join your language team’ internal communication channels.

Weekly Meetings

I am the pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party. author and also the translator for PixelHunter Social Login, a WooCommerce plugin published in the directory a few days ago.

I have just submitted the complete pt_PT translation (51 stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings., the whole plugin UIUI UI is an acronym for User Interface - the layout of the page the user interacts with. Think ‘how are they doing that’ and less about what they are doing.) and I would like to be able to review and approve translations for this project from now on.

Olá @pixelhunter, obrigado por partilhares o teu trabalho. Já aprovei algumas stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings., mas há muitas que não cumprem com as indicações do Guia de Tradutores para pt_PT, nomeadamente:
– tratamento por você, em respeito pela norma usada pela comunidade para o coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. do WordPress;
– termos já consolidados na tradução portuguesa, como início de sessão (vs. login) ou separador (vs. tab).

Há ainda a questão do AO90. Temos duas variantes, pré-AO90 e AO90. A comunidade sugere que a tradução manual seja feita na norma pré-AO90, que depois é automaticamente convertida para AO90. Não entrando aqui na discussão do motivo dessa decisão, admito que, aos dias de hoje, não invalido uma stringString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. se a norma escolhida for AO90. E por isso validei strings que seguem essa norma.

Sugiro que consultes o Guia que referi acima e que uses as ferramentas que estão lá referidas em caso de dúvida, como a pesquisa de consolidação e o glossário.   Olá Alvaro, obrigado pela revisão detalhada — foi mesmo útil.
  
  Reimportei agora a tradução com tudo revisto: passei todo o texto para tratamento por você, corrigi os termos do glossário (início de sessão, separador, palavra-passe, definições, fornecedor) e reescrevi na norma pré-AO90, já que é a recomendação da comunidade e a conversão para AO90 é automática.
  
  Aviso que algumas das stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. que já tinhas aprovado voltam como sugestões novas — foi para uniformizar a terminologia com as restantes (por exemplo “Client ID” → “ID de cliente” e “Redirect URI” → “URI de redireccionamento”). Traduzi também as strings novas da versão 0.4.3, que entretanto sincronizaram.
