I am the plugin author of Tanupom In-Place Converter for WebP ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/tanupom-in-place-converter-for-webp/ ). I have suggested Japanese translations for this plugin and would like to maintain them going forward. Please add my WordPress.org user @tanupom as translation editorTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles: General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor for the following localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. To ensure consistent Japanese notation across the WordPress ecosystem, please follow the Japanese translation style guide—even as the pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party. author:

In particular, please review the rules on parentheses:

1-5: use half-width parentheses ( ) with a half-width space before and after
1-6: no space just inside the parentheses

One more thing, not a style guide issue: “Scanning…” is translated as 「棚卸し中…」 while “Inventory” is also translated as 「棚卸し」 elsewhere. If that overlap is intentional please keep it, but if not, it may be clearer to use a distinct term for “Scanning” (e.g. 「スキャン中…」) so the two operations aren’t confused.
After making your corrections, please come back here and request PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Hi @nukaga, thank you for the careful review and the style guide pointers, and apologies for the late reply!

I have fixed all 11 stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. that were marked as changes requested: full-width parentheses are now half-width, with a half-width space before and after, and no space just inside (rules 1-5 / 1-6). The corrected suggestions have been submitted to both Stable and Development.

About “Scanning…” = 「棚卸し中…」: the overlap with “Inventory” = 「棚卸し」 is intentional. “Scanning…” is the progress label shown right after clicking the “Run inventory” (棚卸しを実行) button, so both strings refer to the same operation, and I kept the same wording so the button and its progress state visibly match. Happy to change it if you still find it confusing.
