I would like to request consideration for the General Translation EditorGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale. I have been an active WordPress contributor for several years and have contributed translations to various WordPress projects, including CoreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress., MetaMeta Meta is a term that refers to the inside workings of a group. For us, this is the team that works on internal WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and Make WordPress., the PluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. As a GET, I would be glad to review and approve translations across the Gujarati locale, help maintain translation quality and consistency, reduce review time, and support both existing and new contributors.

If you feel there are any areas where I should gain more experience before being considered for the GET role, I would sincerely appreciate your feedback and will continue contributing to the Gujarati locale accordingly.

At the moment, we already have an active group of contributors who are regularly contributing, so we’re not adding any new contributors right now. However, I’d be happy to keep you on the list, and when we need to expand the team in the future, I’ll definitely reach out.

  One of the reasons I applied for the GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale. role is that I’ve been contributing Gujarati translations to several plugins, and some of those translations have been waiting for review for over 2–3 weeks, with a few pending for more than a month. I thought I could help reduce the review backlog by reviewing and approving translations across the Gujarati localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/.

Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. access for those plugins or themes, or you can reach out to the existing PTEs who have already been assigned to that specific project.
