Translate WordPress

You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them. Also join your language team’ internal communication channels.

Weekly Meetings

A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves.. Die Übersetzungen wurden von unserem Polyglots-Team nicht überprüft, aber ich habe sie mir kurz angesehen.

Die deutsche Sprache hat 2 Zweige: die formelle Anrede (formal, Sie) und die informelle Anrede (default, du). Einige Übersetzungen sind im falschen Zweig (Sie statt du).

Bitte beachte und befolge diese Punkte:
- Lies dir den deutschen Style Guide durch;
- Sieh dir das deutsche Glossar an;

Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves., such as to be an Italian native speaker and follow an 1:1 introductory chat with an expert Italian editor in our SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/ workspace.

We have an explanation for themes/plugins authors in our handbook page “PTE status requests by Devs for Italian localization: the guidelines” (in English).

Translators can find how we are organized in our handbook (in Italian).

Your Italian native speaker translator can join us in the Italian Polyglots Slack channel with their personal Slack account:
- log on to the WP Italy Community workspace, we have a page with instructions on how to access our Slack if needed,
- then look for the polyglots channel,
- then say “Ciao” and ask – in Italian – for PTE tutoring by referring to the URLURL A specific web address of a website or web page on the Internet, such as a website’s URL www.wordpress.org of this post.

Since the #es_ES and #fr_FR teams didn’t respond yet, I’ll comment here on their behalf:
If you speak these languages on native level, please contact these teams via their SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/ channels:
- The Spanish team uses “polyglots-es” on the global Slack domain, where you already are present. (Read more at https://es.wordpress.org/team/handbook/traducciones/pte/ )
- The French team uses (so far) a separate Slack instance. Read more in their handbook, https://fr.wordpress.org/team/handbook/
