  The key problem is that even if machine translations are getting better and better, someone who knows the target language well needs to check the translation before it gets uploaded.   The needed tonality needs to be adjusted between locales. Some locales even maintain both informal and formal variants (like de_de, de_CH, and nl_NL)

(This is where _x() is used 🙂 )

If you speak these languages on native level, please contact these teams via their SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/ channels:
- The Spanish team uses “polyglots-es” on the global Slack domain, where you already are present. (Read more at https://es.wordpress.org/team/handbook/traducciones/pte/ )
- The French team uses (so far) a separate Slack instance. Read more in their handbook, https://fr.wordpress.org/team/handbook/
