Translate WordPress

You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them. Also join your language team’ internal communication channels.

Before publishing your pending post, I corrected all the localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ tags. You should use the “WP Locale” column in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/

Another question: How did you source these translations? Do you actually personally KNOW all these target languages? You should never upload machine translations that weren’t checked by someone who speaks the target language.

Currently, your translations are for other languages. We use ndash instead of mdash in German.
Most teams don’t accept machine translations.

The German language has 2 branches: the formal address (Sie) and the informal address (default, du).

Please note and follow these points:
- Read the German Style Guide;
- Take a look at the German Glossary;

Thanks to all of you for the feedback.

Honestly: I speak Italian (native), Spanish (fluent,
I live in Spain), and English. For the other languages
I used AI as initial drafts — my mistake, I shouldn’t
have submitted them without native verification.

I’ll withdraw all except it_IT and es_ES. @Johannes

Your translations are good enough for Russian, even if you have used AI (many of us do that as drafts nowadays) i dont see any machine translation specific problems.

You could get better results by using AI more effectively—specifically, by incorporating the glossary (available as a .csv download) and the style guide.
