You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them. Also join your language team’ internal communication channels.

Don’t see your language? You can request support for it.

Weekly Meetings

How have you sourced your German translations? Do you speak German yourself?

The translations have not been reviewed by our Polyglots teamPolyglots Team Polyglots Team is a group of multilingual translators who work on translating plugins, themes, documentation, and front-facing marketing copy. https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/, but I took a quick look at them. There are some errors, and some translations do not follow the rules set by the German Polyglots team:

The German language has 2 branches: The formal form of address (Sie) and the informal form of address (default, du). There are translations that are in the wrong branch (Sie instead of du).

You should follow all these steps:
- Read the German Style Guide;
- Read the German Glossary;
- Use our German SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. To keep the quality of Italian translations high and make sure that they are really useful for users, we have some rules and guidelines for becoming a PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves., such as to be an Italian native speaker and follow an 1:1 introductory chat with an expert Italian editor in our SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/ workspace.

If you speak Italian please join us in the Italian Polyglots Slack channel:

I’ve now granted you PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. for #tr_TR, since you’re based in Istanbul and I believe you know Turkish well.
But the #pt_BR and #fr_FR use similar approaches as do the Spanish and Italian team.
If you actually know these languages, please look up instructions about how to proceed in:
