 3. Ciao [@quickfiscodev](https://profiles.wordpress.org/quickfiscodev/),
 4. to keep the quality of Italian translations high and make sure that they are really
useful for users, we have some rules and guidelines for becoming a PTEProject Translation
Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who
has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce
or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve
strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors
are appointed by a [general translation editor](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#general-translation-editor)
after a [request by the project author](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/rosetta/theme-plugin-directories/#requesting-new-translation-editors)
or by the contributors themselves., such as to be an Italian native speaker and
follow an 1:1 introductory chat with an expert Italian editor in our Italian SlackSlack

The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at [https://make.wordpress.org/chat/](https://make.wordpress.org/chat/)

 5. We have an explanation on how it works for themes/plugins authors [in our handbook page “PTE status requests by Devs for Italian localization: the guidelines” (in English)](https://it.wordpress.org/team/handbook/polyglots/pte-status-requests-by-devs-for-italian-localization-the-guidelines/).

Translators can find how we are organized [in our handbook (in Italian)](https://it.wordpress.org/team/handbook/polyglots/).
 6. We invite the person on your team who is a native Italian speaker to join us in
    the Italian Polyglots Slack channel:
 7. * log on to the [WP Italy Community workspace](https://italia-wp-community.slack.com/),
we have a page with [instructions on how to access our Slack if needed](https://it.wordpress.org/slack/),
