You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them. Also join your language team’ internal communication channels.

I am the pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party author of Novera Smart Chat.
When I submitted the plugin, the source stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. were in Turkish, and the readme file was in English.

Now I want to provide proper English translations. However:
• The system does not show en_US for me to translate.
• I translated the strings into en_GB, and they are now waiting for approval.
• It seems the plugin is treated as if the source language is en_US, so I cannot directly translate into it.

In addition, I also uploaded Turkish translations for the readme file, which are also waiting for approval.

Could you please clarify how I can solve the en_US issue?
And could you also review the pending translations (tr_TR and en_GB)?

LocalesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/:

For WordPress, the whole ecosystem has selected en_US as the source language. This means that any site that is set to use “English (US)” will directly use all printable stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. in the pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party without any translation.

At the same time, most of our various localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ teams don’t know French, Turkish, Russian, or Japanese. They’ll check translations from English.

So please update printable strings in your plugin and your readme to be in English (US). (You don’t need to translate variable names or comments in your code to English.)

A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. and the readme are now in English (US). I’ve also provided Turkish (tr_TR) translations separately. The issue is resolved now. 👍
