# PTE Request for Override PHP…

PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as
PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for
example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project
translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors.
Per project translation, editors are appointed by a [general translation editor](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#general-translation-editor)
after a [request by the project author](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/rosetta/theme-plugin-directories/#requesting-new-translation-editors)
or by the contributors themselves. Request for Override PHPPHP PHP (recursive acronym
for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a widely-used open source general-purpose scripting
language that is especially suited for web development and can be embedded into

      Initially, I didn’t notice that
     you also requested en_US.
 11. The problem is that en_US, our by far biggest localeLocale Locale = language version,

 12. Therefore, we never translate _TO_ en_US, only _FROM_.
 13. Therefore the Polyglots teamPolyglots Team Polyglots Team is a group of multilingual

 14. In other words, if you want to make your plugin available in several languages,
then you really should use US English in your visible strings. (You don’t need
to bother about comments in the code, or variable names.)
