Kickstarting Kinyarwanda locale

Hello, I have started translating WordPress into Kinyarwanda about 2-3 months ago. I have Kinyarwanda heritage on my mother’s side and fluent in it and also got a few other active people who share some Kinyarwanda heritage to contribute translations at our contributor sessions and meetups locally.

However, the current localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ manager and GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale. for Kinyarwanda seem to be inactive, so all our suggested translations are not being approved.

I’ve tried reaching out to them but have not received a response. I wasn’t sure of the steps to step up until now and posting this in that regard.

Could I kindly request the possibility of stepping up as a new Locale Manager or GTE for Kinyarwanda/Ikinyarwanda?

My team of ready GTE/Editors to kickstart, are myself @jojo256, @mohkatz, @carolflowers16, violetnamirimu and as of two days ago we’ve had @mosescursor also express interest in being active as well. (These are W.org usernames)

Thank you and Kind regards,
