A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Hi, Bonjour à tous,

J’ai commencé à suggérer des corrections de traductions pour certaines strings mal traduites dans le thème OceanWP, puis ensuite à suggérer des traductions pour d’autres qui n’avaient jamais été traduites (et il y en a un petit paquet). Je ne suis pas pressé à la seconde de voir mes changements reviewés et mis en place, mais en voyant les statistiques de traduction du thème pour tous pays ( https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-themes/oceanwp/ ) je me suis rendu compte que le fr_FR était assez à la traîne, et en particulier qu’il y avait beaucoup (plus de 600, maintenant) de strings traduites en attente de reviewage (qui n’a probablement pas eu lieu depuis quelques années/quelques màj, je suppose)…
..D’où mon message aujourd’hui, du coup ! Si je peux obtenir une révision de mes quelques stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. ou éventuellement un statut d’éditeur PTE pour ce projet, ça pourrait être pratique, merci !

In English : summary of the French message above, i suggested some translations for the OceanWP theme and i would like them to be reviewed and/or to get an editor access to be able to review some currently waiting translations… there are quite a lot of them !

I know what you mean about volunteering, i am a ‘pure-breed’ benevolent volunteer myself, so there’s obviously no problem with that!
I feel that you may have interpreted my message as somewhat offensive, but of course no offense was meant: after 8 days i was just following the 1-week advised time-before-second-message-if-no-answer in the https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/translating/how-to-translate/#what-if-no-one-responds-to-my-request link, that’s all. If you and the localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ teams feel that a 14-day or a 30-day timespan would be more suitable, i guess we can suggest that modification to the editors of this handbook page, and i would have followed the 14-day or 30-day rule with no problems, I’m a rather simple guy and when the instructions are simple enough i try to follow them as well as i can. As i said in my first message I am in no rush, I just have the vague hope that at one point we will manage to revive a bit the translations of the OceanWP theme because currently with 600+ suggested translations in Waiting state it looks like it is abandoned and it is a bit sad for a theme that is nice and that works well apart from that! (note: I am not affiliated with them, just to be clear in case I wasn’t)

Anyway thanks for your answer, I am going to wait a little bit and then i will try to contact the French team again.

Even if my message posted last week has now drifted to Page 2 of the board ( Q_Q ) without getting any answer or reaction, I am still interested !

So i post again, as is advised in the What if no one responds to my request? paragraph of the Handbook.

      Thanks for this reminder. I’ll update that page a bit when I get around to it. There are a lot of nuances with regards to how active a localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ team is, and whether they’ve got a substantial backlog.
      
      When it comes to the #fr_FR team, then in almost all cases they ask the aspiring translation editorTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
      General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor to join their SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. instance. You can wait for @fxbenard to respond here, but he’ll most probably say the same.
