 13. thx guys.
 14. Is there a decision for this pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing
a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend
functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins
are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress.
These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory [https://wordpress.org/plugins/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/)
or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party., if it should be formal or informal?
 15. my take on this is as follows:
If it should look more profound and professional,
I recommend formal. But following your style Guido, as someone who seems to be
interested in sharing and democratic processes, viewing people on the same level,
I recommend the informal approach. Especially as there is a “formal informal”
version of German, which is called “Arbeits-Du”, which translates to “working
you”. So even approaching people by informal “you”, it shoulders the inclination
of respect, culture and appropriate behavior.
 16. So in this case I would opt for the informal approach.
 17. eager to hear from you and happy to be on board 🙂

      * [@derwalter](https://profiles.wordpress.org/derwalter/)
         It’s works in a different
way. If you want your WordPress site to be in German(Germany), you need to
also select which translation branch you want to use, either “default” (which
uses “du), or “formal” (which uses “Sie”).
      * Throughout the German translations of WordPress coreCore Core is the set of
software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress.,
plugins, themes, etc. this then needs to be followed. This way, the user will
get a consistent language in all parts of the site.
      * In other words, you don’t select one or the other version for the user, but(
ideally) offer both, so that the user can choose what they want.
         Let’s tag
        the German team [#de_DE](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/?locale=de_DE)
in case they want to add more information.
      * Contrary to many developers’ belief, the informal “du” version is much larger
than “Sie”. You can see at [https://wordpress.org/about/stats/](https://wordpress.org/about/stats/)
that “du” is used by 5.5% of all WordPress sites, whereas “Sie” reaches 0.2%.
      * ————–
But there’s also Swiss German, where the default branch use “Sie” (and
this version is also used by 0.2% of all WordPress sites. In other words, if
you’ve created both default and formal branch of de_DE for your pluginPlugin
A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be
added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features
to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming
language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the
        WordPress.org Plugin Directory [https://wordpress.org/plugins/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/)
or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party., then it would be wise to run
a special script to convert de_DE formal into de_CH default. This script mostly
handles a couple of spelling conventions, like replacing ß with ss. (The informal
branch of de_CH is then another manual step of changing the verbs and voice
        back to “du”.)
      * So you might want to also ask (in a new post) for PTEProject Translation Editor
A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has
access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce
or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can
approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation,
editors are appointed by a [general translation editor](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#general-translation-editor)
after a [request by the project author](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/rosetta/theme-plugin-directories/#requesting-new-translation-editors)
or by the contributors themselves. with [#de_CH](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/?locale=de_CH).
For completeness, I should also mention that there is one more German localeLocale
Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region
code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of
all locales supported by WordPress in [https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/),
