# Hello Polyglots Team,

I would like to become a Project Translation EditorProject Translation Editor A
Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access
to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or
Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve
strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors
are appointed by a [general translation editor](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#general-translation-editor)
after a [request by the project author](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/rosetta/theme-plugin-directories/#requesting-new-translation-editors)
or by the contributors themselves. (PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation

I have already contributed translations, and I believe my translations meet the
quality standards for the WordPress community. I am eager to help maintain and improve
the Azerbaijani translations for this project.

 3. Hello [@dervishov](https://profiles.wordpress.org/dervishov/)
      You had two posts
pending. I merged them into one, and published. We’ll wait a few days to see if
     anyone from the [#az](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/?locale=az) team
reacts to the nofifications they will have received about your post and now my
     comment.

      Since the [#az](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/?locale=az)
localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code
and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico.
A list of all locales supported by WordPress in [https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/)
is more or less dormant and nobody responded to your request, I’ve not set you
as GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred
to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on **all projects
for a specific locale.** for this locale. When I looked at some of your pending
stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists
of a multitude of localized strings., I noted that you in some cases tried to
literally translate some localizationLocalization Localization (sometimes shortened
to "**l10n**") is the process of adapting a product or service to a particular
language, culture, and desired local "look-and-feel." parameters, that, according
to their translators’ comments should be handled in specific ways.
 7. Please read through the relevant pages in our handbook [https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/)
Especially the “Roles and Capabilities” and Expectations on translations.
 8. If you’ve got any questions, please ask in our SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative
Group Chat Platform [https://slack.com/](https://slack.com/). The WordPress community
has its own Slack Channel at [https://make.wordpress.org/chat/](https://make.wordpress.org/chat/)
channel. Since Polyglots is a huge team that covers most time-zones, there are
almost always experienced contributors around that can give you some advice if
     you get stuck.
 9. And try to grow your translation team. That will make the work funnier and your
team much more resilient. Perhaps you can organize some translation event, for
     instance.
