Before publishing your post (which was pending since yesterday), I corrected those localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. The idea is that translations should be approved by people who know the target language well enough to check that translations are correct, follow the style guide of each locale. *If* you’re sourcing these translations from *professional* translators and you fulfill several specific requests from us (informing the translators about available style-guides and ways to contact the translation teams; having a special profile with working communication channel for translation feedback, etc.), then there’s a special role that might be just right. So for now, I’m going to reject all other localesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. Regarding English: Whatever stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party will be used for en_US, so we don’t translate TO en_US, only FROM.
Then there are several other English localesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/. If there’s no language pack, they’ll get the original strings, which for most plugins are totally understandable. If you want to do adaptation for en_GB, en_NZ, etc, then I suggest that you first submit strings, and then make a new, specific request here.
