You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. for 2 plugins and 1 theme in de_DE (Formal):

A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. role is awarded for a localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/, all locale variants are included.

Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves.-Rechte für nicht selbst entwickelte Plugins oder Themes zu erhalten, gibt es zwei unterschiedliche Möglichkeiten, für die sich das deutsche Polyglot-GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale.-Team entschieden hat:

1.) Du bittest den Entwickler des Plugins oder Themes, dich als PTE vorzuschlagen. In diesem Fall werden wir – das Einverständnis des Entwicklers vorausgesetzt – dir sofort die PTE-Freigabe erteilen; ohne vorherige Prüfung der Übersetzungen. Der Entwickler kann uns über unseren deutschen SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/., Kanal #polyglots oder mithilfe einer PTE-Anfrage auf make.w.org/polyglots deswegen kontaktieren.

2.) Wir entscheiden über deine PTE-Freigabe ohne das Wissen oder/und Einverständnis des Entwicklers, das setzt eine eingehende Prüfung deiner Übersetzungen voraus.
WICHTIG: Da dies sehr populäre Plugins/Themes sind, die bereits PTE haben, empfehlen wir dir, dass du auf Slack mit den bisherigen PTE in Kontakt trittst und sie um Prüfung/Freigabe deiner Übersetzungsvorschläge bittest.

Egal welche der beiden Möglichkeiten in Betracht kommen, auf jeden Fall solltest du alle folgenden Schritte einhalten, damit wir deine PTE-Anfrage weiter bearbeiten können:
- Besuche die deutsche Slack-Community, Kanal #polyglots
  Deutschsprachiges Tutorial, wie man sich für den deutschen Slack-Kanal registrieren kann
- Lies die Polyglot-Linkliste (URLs zu Glossar, Style Guide, amtlichem Regelwerk und Duden findest du in der Linkliste)
  IV. Hierarchie der Regeln:
  - Oberste Priorität hat das Glossar,
  - steht ein Begriff nicht im Glossar, dann ist der Style Guide maßgeblich,
  - gefolgt vom aktuellen amtlichen Regelwerk
  - und zu guter Letzt ist der Duden ausschlaggebend.
- Besuche uns in Slack, Kanal #polyglots um Antworten auf eventuell auftauchende Fragen zu erhalten – wann immer du unsicher bist, frag dort zuerst;
- Bitte das Team (und nicht einzelne Personen) im Slack, Kanal #polyglots um Unterstützung. Alle Personen, die auf translate.w.org auf der Übersetzungsseite des Plugins oder Themes gelistet sind, haben mindestens PTE-Rechte und können dir weiterhelfen, dich mit den Regeln vertraut machen und eine Einschätzung abgeben, ob eine PTE-Freigabe infrage kommt.
Zum Abschluss noch ein paar Hinweise, die uns allen viel Zeit ersparen können.

Bitte prüfe deine Übersetzung selbst noch einmal hinsichtlich der oben genannten Regeln „Style Guide“ und „Glossar“. Du kannst (und solltest) eigene übersetzte StringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. 1.) Die deutsche Sprache hat 2 Zweige: Die formelle (formal) Anrede (Sie) und die informelle (default) Anrede (du). Es kommt oft vor, dass Übersetzungen im falschen Zweig erfolgen (Sie statt du oder umgekehrt).

2.) Glossar-Einträge sind obligatorisch, du erkennst sie in den Original-Strings anhand einer gestrichelten Unterlinie, einfach den Mauszeiger darüber halten und der Glossarbegriff wird dir angezeigt.
