You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

i want to translate WordPress to Ottoman Turkish language which is used long long era in the history and still using. Goverment put the lessons on schools about it many people learning it. So when i started to establish a new WP site no language. So if you start this please, soon it will be finished. Thank you.

Who is speaking/using Ottoman Turkish in their daily life? It’s not a widely adapted language. It’s old, has lots of loaned words from Arabic and Persian and it’s obsolete.

And as a side note it has 3 variants, which one will you use when translating stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.?

  i am using it and a lot of my friends using it. it is NOT a different language it is TURKISH. it is like a seed , growing. it has a lot of words from other languages like today’s Turkish , it is a fact that now Turkish getting a lot of English words and weaken day by day. Turkish youth dont understand book written 30 years ago.Ottoman Turkish WordPress: i will do it , Yes i will make it for WordPress.

    So you’re defending instead of working on to preserve Modern Turkish and get rid of loaned English words etc. we should focus on an old language. With different numeric system, different transliterations… This will make modern Turkish stronger? Because you said it’s getting weakened as your argument. Are you going to say “We can’t read our grandparents toombstones.” too? (This is a Turkish reference)
    
    By the way we tried very hard to use modern Turkish in WordPress Turkish translations. There are no loaned English words. (Maybe a few because that there are no translations for them yet)

I will present some evidence for anyone approaching the matter impartially and freely (like wordpress ). When you type “Osmanlı Türkçesi” into the search engine, you can see that many documents, studies, books and other materials are increasing day by day. Many people are interested and learning at universities, at schools of the ministry of education, and online learning platforms like udemy. I have the original copy of the well-known book of the M. Kamal Atatürk, “The Speech -Nutuk”, which was printed in Ottoman Turkish firstly and originally . Libraries are full of materials in Ottoman Turkish and archives have been scanned and opened. Although Ottoman Turkish is an ISO approved localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/, it is same version of today’s Turkish speech written in a different alphabet so it will never absolute .it had just blocked before with political issues, because of it weekaned . That’s why I wanted it to be in “wordpress”, which is a free platform. As I said, I’ve already started creating the glossary based on tr_TR and I will present it here. even if it is blocked here for political reasons i will distribute files with the application guide from the free platforms.

The Core Development Team builds WordPress. contains some 9000 stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings., new releases three times a year bring new and updated strings every time. In addition, to make it possible to actually use this language version, you’d also need to maintain at least some popular themes and plugins translated.
For this to work in a sustainable way, you’d need a team of at least 2-3 interested people.

There are a lot of related foreigners. they are dying to learn ottoman… because there are so many works in ottoman… think about the literature of a nation that ruled for 6 centuries, what’s in it, what foreigners are eagerly interested in, let’s say a few talk here, tombstones written in ottoman, contracts, legacies, court minutes and minutes, please …..

I also want to participate in and support for the project about the Ottoman language.
