Hi, I am the author of the Coldbox theme, and I’ve found German translations are waiting for approval for quite a long period.

Since I don’t speak German, I’m not sure if the person is appropriate for being a PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves.; could you review the translations and approve them or make them a PTE if they are qualified?

The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor (PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves.) and not necessarily that they’ll spend a lot of time on validation of translations.

Therefore I’m going to remove the to-do status of this request, I’ll just mention the relevant tag #de_DE to notify the German team, in case they happen to have time for this right now.

A better approach for you would be to first check with the translator @aboehm if they still happen to be around and would be interested in becoming the German translation editorTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. yes I submitted the traslation for the coldbox theme. I am using the theme on my website and would be happy to have the translation added.
Please let me know if there is anything else I need to do to have this approved.

A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. and concentrate on helping translators (like you) to become translation editorsTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor. Your best option would be to join the German SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. team, where you can chat directly with the other members of their team in their channel “polyglots”.

Joining this local Slack workspace is a two-step process:
1. First, join the GLOBAL Slack for WordPress contributors via https://make.wordpress.org/chat/ (and here you’re welcome to the international “polyglots” channel).

2. Next, use your special forwarding email you received in step (1) in order to join the local Slack instance via https://dewp.slack.com/signup
