Hi Polyglots,

I’m the author of the HivePress pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party with 7,000+ active installations – we had a few volunteers who submitted the translation, but we can’t find PTEs for a few localesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ so these are waiting for approval for a long, long time.

I understand that the localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ editors are also volunteers, but if there was any way to speed this up (e.g. by paying for the editor’s time to review the stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. or making an equal donation to the WordPress non-profit fund) it would be great.

I’m not sure what to do because many users have to translate the plugin over and over just for their websites, thinking that there’s no translation.

Please let me know if someone can help with reviewing the pending strings for the following locales.

I checked the translations. Unfortunately they are very low quality. Translators didn’t pay attention to our global dictionary. A part of the translations are obviously machine translation etc.

I approved some and rejected some. But because the overall quality is so low I’ll not continue. @hivepress you are now PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves.. The translations have not been reviewed by our Polyglot team, but I took a quick look at them.

There are some errors and some translations do not follow the rules set by the German Polyglot team. The German language has 2 branches: The formal form of address (Sie) and the informal (default) form of address (du). There are translations that are in the wrong branch (Sie instead of du).

You should all follow these steps (either YOU, the Dev, or the Translator):
- Get yourselves (you AND/OR the translator – both would be best for perfect communication) on the German SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. Community, channel #polyglots
  German tutorial how to join our Slack channel.
- Read the German Style Guide;
- Read the German Glossary;
- Use our Slack, #polyglots channel to get answers for questions that may arise – if you’re not sure, ask first.
Ask the team (not individuals) in our Slack #polyglots for assistance. I’ve checked the translations, and most of them were ok, so they are now approved. However, there are still some inconsistencies with our glossary, which I invite you to check at this address.
