I’m a PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred
to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project(
for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale.
A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors.
Per project translation, editors are appointed by a [general translation editor](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#general-translation-editor)

 3. Hi [@jmaasonoffice](https://profiles.wordpress.org/jmaasonoffice/)
     The main idea
is that whoever operates as PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation
Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings
on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen)
for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that
are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed
    by a [general translation editor](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#general-translation-editor)
after a [request by the project author](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/rosetta/theme-plugin-directories/#requesting-new-translation-editors)
or by the contributors themselves. should know the target language well enough
to ensure that the translations are correct in all aspects. It’s technically possible
to add several PTE’s for a project, so that in itself is not a problem. I suggest
that you ask about this in the [#de_DE](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/?locale=de_DE)
team, best of all in the German SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat
Platform [https://slack.com/](https://slack.com/). The WordPress community has
its own Slack Channel at [https://make.wordpress.org/chat/](https://make.wordpress.org/chat/)
    team.
 4. Joining the German Slack team is a two-step process.
     1. First, join the GLOBAL
Slack for WordPress contributors via [https://make.wordpress.org/chat/](https://make.wordpress.org/chat/)
 5. 2. Next, use your special forwarding email you received in step (1) in order to
join the local Slack instance via [https://dewp.slack.com/signup/](https://dewp.slack.com/signup/)
 6. Both these Slack spaces have a channel named “polyglots” which would be the right
channels for this kind of question.
