This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Of course we could configure sr_BA as a new localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ (with two variants, just like sr_RS), but before rushing ahead doing that, we should check if it’s worth the effort. (As you can see in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ we’ve got quite a few Spanish localesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ for various countries around Latin America, but in reality, there aren’t enough of interested locale teams to maintain it all.

How big differences would there be between sr_RS and sr_BA?
Do you have enough interested people to keep it all working?

The _latin is a variant, it’s included under #sr_RS and we’re looking into how we could maintain it automatically. That slow conversation is happening under https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/2017/12/07/revisiting-serbian-latin/

  It’s worth it. Basically, there is a lot of difference in writing/speaking so Serbian (Serbia) don’t use the letters “ij” as we do.

  For Serbian (Serbian) Latin I’m not sure why they don’t automatically do it. Basically, we will write everything in Cyrillic and translate it automatically to Latin. There will be like 1% maybe of stuff for manual review but it shouldn’t be a problem.

    But it will be one locale, with TWO variants. You’ll have to say which one of these two shall be _default.
    The _default one is the one that will be used for instance on pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party descriptions under yourlocale-wordpress-org/plugins/
    de_DE has informal address (du) as _default, and _formal as a second variant. If you look at https://translate.wordpress.org/locale/de/ you can see a drop-down in the box, upper-right, where you select which variant you want to work with. If you’re going to do automatic conversion from Cyrillic to Latin script, then I guess _default should be the Cyrillic one. Otherwise anyone contributing would need to remember to always change to the Cyrillic version before suggesting/saving stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings..

    Also, dear #sr_RS team: do we anywhere need to clarify that your locale is the Serbian one? Current definitions for your locale are:
