You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Don’t see your language? You can request support for it.

PTE Request for Herzog Dupont

Before publishing your post (which was in pending state) I removed the _formal entry, since variants are automatically included when PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. gets assigned for a localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/.
However: the whole idea is that the PTE should know the target language well enough to be able to check that suggested stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. are following the style guide and term glossary for the language. (See https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/translating/list-of-glossaries-per-locale/ ) Do you really know all these three languages that well? Usually the best candidate would be the translator themselves.
Now we’re waiting for the relevant locale teams to check and comment.

  Thank you, I wasn’t aware that they’re included. German is my mother tongue and the language most plugins users will be using (besides English), so I would like to be able to add/approve translations for German at least.
  
  I studied Romances languages (Spanish) and my Dutch level is B1, but I don’t mind not being able to approve stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. for these languages at the moment. I can still come back and request the authority later if there are suggested strings that don’t get approval.

  I’m removing the to-do status for #es_ES since there currently is nothing more left for the localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ team(s) to do. In order to proceed with this request, you (or, where applicable, the translator) can follow the instructions given in previous comments.

I see that Peter already helped to accept and add extra translations at this time, I didn’t see any suggestions left to check the consistency of your own translations. Do you speak Dutch yourself? If not, we can continue to check our pending lists on plugins to check the suggestions made by others before they get accepted.
