You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

hi! we are actively using the theme “astra”, and we use it for multisiteMultisite Multisite is a WordPress feature which allows users to create a network of sites on a single WordPress installation. Available since WordPress version 3.0, Multisite is a continuation of WPMU or WordPress Multiuser project. WordPress MultiUser project was discontinued and its features were included into WordPress core.https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network. too, for germany and austria. unfortunately, the translation for austrian german is at 0%, so we suggested most stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. for it (we are native austrian german speakers, btw). can someone check it out? all translations are copied from the germany version, because there is no difference at all.

Hello @ateufel, I’ve looked over the stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. and noticed two things that should be fixed (in the German translation as well!): The default localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ is the informal variant (i.e. “du”, not “Sie”). In addition, a lot of strings don’t seem to follow https://de.wordpress.org/mitwirken/komposita/.

In addition to the general German language conventions, styleguide and glossary, there is a subsidiary Austrian German glossary as well. (For follow-up discussions, you can always reach as in the #polyglots channel in the Austrian Community Slack.)

A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. requests and not just review/approval of pending translations.

@pputzer thanx for the comment! should i change something, or is it good enough for now to get it approved and added? because, the de_DE version is approved with the errors you mentioned. sorry, i am new to this, not entirely sure how to proceed, because there are 39 pages to go through and all i did so far was copying the de_DE version because there should not be any diference 🙂

It is possible that translations are approved in contrary to those guidelines (either because the translator was a PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. – which means that their translations are “approved” by themselves – or because the issue was missed by whoever checked the translations). This only means they should be corrected in German as well.
