PTE Request for [Comm100 Free Live Chat]

Hello Polyglots, I am the plugin author for [Comm100 Free Live Chat and https://wordpress.org/plugins/comm100-live-chat/ . We just had our plugin translated in Spanish and Chinese by our translators and we’d like to be able to approve translation for our plugin(s). Please, note that at this moment there are no pending stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. to review for your pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party, therefore we cannot check the quality of the translations.

Anyway, you can take a look at this page where there is more information on how we handle PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. requests and why we don’t grant PTE authority by default.

      For next time: When you use the correct localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ tag (like here #es_ES ) then there’s no need to separately mention the GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale.’s of that locale, since they’ll automatically receive notifications whenever their locale is tagged like this.

        OK, noted, thanks for sharing that. I want to ask why is half the submitted translation for Spanish missing? We had translated all 67 items and it was shown as 67 under ‘Translated’, but today the number suddenly becomes 33 under ‘Translated’ and 34 under ‘Untranslated’. It seems to be a bug?

It’s possible to filterFilter Filters are one of the two types of Hooks https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Hooks. They provide a way for functions to modify data of other functions. They are the counterpart to Actions. Unlike Actions, filters are meant to work in an isolated manner, and should never have side effects such as affecting global variables and output. for ALL strings, and then you can see for yourself:

  I don’t know the style guide for #es_ES well enough to answer that.
  Best approach would be if @faye001 could join the Spanish SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. and ask there in the relevant channel “traductores-plugins”.
  
  Joining the Spanish Slack is a two-step process:
  1. First join the global Slack team for WordPress contributors via https://make.wordpress.org/chat/
  2. Then use the special forwarding email address you got in step (1) and join the Spanish team via https://wpes.slack.com/signup/
