You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Since you’ve already contributed to various projects for #ar and even been assigned PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. for the current default theme, I believe you’re asking how you can become more involved in the #ar translation team?
You can see what users currently are assigned as GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale. (Global Translation EditorTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:

The good first step would be for you to join the global SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. As you can see in https://translate.wordpress.org/stats/ They’re keeping up the main translations, but have a huge backlog of unchecked pending stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. (roughly 105k strings).

I’ll immediately remove the to-do status of this request, since there’s nothing that the localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ team would need to do right now. You’re still welcome to continue commenting in the comments here.

Thank you for your information, and yes you are right about my contribution to English to Arabic translation projects. I thought there is another projects for French to Arabic translation and thats why I asked here. So now I understand that there is only a collection of #ar projects and I can continue translating from French to Arabic without any action needed as I am already joind the team.

  Actually, the WordPress eco-system regards all source stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. that are written directly in the code to be American English. I.e. we never translate TO en_US but only FROM. (Even if the strings are in a different language, WordPress will treat them as if they’re in en_US.)

I just noted that after my latest response above, you reverted the status of this post to “to-do”. But there’s really nothing pending on the Arabic localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ team right now.
If you check in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/?locale=ar you already are (and have been for a long time) a member of the Arabic translation team. If you want to contribute more, then a very good first step would be to join the global SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. team and the Arabic Slack team (see my first response, from February). That way, you’d enable direct chat contact with other contributors.
Keep in mind that the boxes, etc. on this page where we are now, have no function. They are not integrated to any other system. It’s just formatting and a possibility to filterFilter Filters are one of the two types of Hooks https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Hooks. They provide a way for functions to modify data of other functions. They are the counterpart to Actions. Unlike Actions, filters are meant to work in an isolated manner, and should never have side effects such as affecting global variables and output. for posts that are marked as resolved or not resolved. If you change the status of your post, then please also add a comment where you describe what you did, and why. But, again, if you want to cooperate more deeply with the Arabic team, then the next step would be for you to join Slack and start communicating with them directly.

  This is the second year of WordPress releas and I do not see my name within the Arabic Translation Team in any wordpress site update message, even it is already listed here in the list and I can see it when navigating the translation page here.
  I do not know what is the reason for such issue and how to solve it, and whther it is related to this old message and any changes I made here.

    I can see that your contribution is accounted for, for instance in https://translate.wordpress.org/locale/ar/default/wp/dev/
    Now, if you’ve set your admin language to Arabic and you in your site visit /wp-admin/credits.php then there’s a chance that you’ll see your name there among the translators.
    
    I’m not totally sure, though, since starting with WordPress 5.9, the #ar team didn’t prepare the necessary structure under https://i18n.svn.wordpress.org/ar/branches/ to have full “Release packages” generated in Arabic. (They’ll get a notification now that I mentioned their tag, I just don’t know if anyone of the current GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale.’s for Arabic has commit access to i18nInternationalization Internationalization (sometimes shortened to I18N , meaning “I - eighteen letters -N”) is the process of planning and implementing products and services so that they can easily be adapted to specific local languages and cultures, a process called localization. This is the process of making software translatable. Information about Internationalization for developers can be found in the Developer’s handbooks./svn. ) The easiest solution right now would probably be to simply clear the full directory structure for Arabic. There won’t be any translated readme.txt and sample-wp-config, but after all there haven’t been any for the latest three major versions anyway.
