You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Meeting archive

International Translation Day
- @markscottrobson hosted the first drop-in event of the day 🎉
- The Japanese team hosted their first event on Sunday night and, so far, have 15 new projects (themes and plugins) that are over 90% translated.
- The Japanese team is also working on translating the Virtual Events handbook and HelpHub.
- There’s also a number of events happening today that team members will be joining or presenting at as well.
- Organizers and team members should take notes throughout the week of the onboarding experience for new contributors, so we can identify areas of improvement. We’ll work on a recap post after the week ends to collect all of these insights in one place.

- @nao and @evarlese will work together to create a survey for Polyglots team members to identify what’s going well and what could be improved, to prioritize future projects.
- Outreach will be an important part of this process to ensure that we’re covering a large enough sample.

- As the number of strings to translate increases, this can help locales have a more immediate impact.
- There may be a number of strings that most end-users are unlikely to see, which can help with what should be prioritized.

- @carike will start a discussion on the P2p2 "p2" is the name of the theme that blogs at make.wordpress.org use (and o2 is the accompanying plugin). When asked to post something "on the p2" by a member of the Polyglots team, that usually means you're asked to post on the team blog https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/. as a precursor to creating a metaMeta Meta is a term that refers to the inside workings of a group. For us, this is the team that works on internal WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and Make WordPress. ticket in the future.
