You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

- @psmits1567 asked how the number of WordPress running on a translated version is calculated. It comes from https://wordpress.org/about/stats/ which is collected using WordPress APIAPI An API or Application Programming Interface is a software intermediary that allows programs to interact with each other and share data in limited, clearly defined ways. (locale is already-public information)

  - @Vlad shared that Romanian 5.5 release packageRelease package A release package is a packaged version of WordPress. That is, a ZIP file consisting of WordPress in its entirety, along with PO and MO files for core, the PO and MO files of default themes and Akismet, and any custom changes a locale has. - Polyglots Handbook Reorganization Update
  - Handbook pages are updated, and the handbook is now structured better to help onboard new contributors (translators, PTEs/GTEs, global mentors, and PluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party/Theme authors).
- International Translation Day celebration (September 30)
  - Now teams in Bhutan, Venezuela, Japan (and maybe Kolkata) are planning some sort of virtual event around the day to celebrate it with WordPress translation contribution. If you are also interested, you can check out this handbook page on organizing a translation day meetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another.
